In conjunction with the Jožef Štefan Institute, Domel has received the TARAS award at the Industrial forum in Portorož on 7-8 June 2010.

Taras recognises the most successful cooperation between the scientific-research environment and the commercial sector in the area of innovation, development and technology. The Taras awards for successful cooperation in the development of a System for automatic end-quality assessment for electric motors for vacuum cleaners were awarded to Domel d.d. and the Systems and Control programme group of the Jožef Stefan Institute. In explaining the award, the organiser wrote that this is an outstanding achievement of cooperation between the commercial sector and the scientific-research environment that, at the highest level, solves actual industrial problems to maximise the competitiveness of the product in the very demanding global market.
