At Domel we produce rapidly rotating motors, reaching speeds of over 100,000 rpm. Therefore, it is very important to understand and be familiar with rotor dynamics at such high speeds, otherwise the operation of the rotor in a critical range can result in a premature failure of the electric motor. Within rotordynamics, we perform calculations of the critical natural frequencies of the rotor, which depend on the rotor speed due to the gyroscopic effect. As part of numerical analyses in the Ansys software environment, we carry out modal analyses and draw the Cambell diagram showing the dynamic property variables of the rotor depending on rotor speed. One of the key competences in the field of rotordynamics is determining the rigidity of bearings supporting the rotor.
