R&D Laboratories
The laboratories in Domel are qualified and equipped to support our R&D and production needs. Over the years of testing and measurement of different types of motor for household, gardening, industrial, medical and automotive applications we have grown in knowledge and expertise.
Based on international regulations and standards, as well as internal and customer demands, we have developed software-controlled test systems and procedures in order to verify components and motors, as well as their performance in appliances and end uses. We are able to provide many different types of R&D services to our customers, and some of our testing capabilities are also available for hire.
Vibration and shock testing
Vibration and shock testing combined with high +180°C and low -70°C temperatures or humidity using an LDS V875LS-440-LPT750 Shaker with slip table.
We perform vibration testing (sine, random, sine on random and shock testing) according to the international standards IEC 60068-2-27, IEC 60068-2-29, IEC 60068-2-32, IEC 60068-2-64, ISO 16750-3 and more. We develop vibration testing procedures and specifications based on the related vibration measurements and design shaker fixtures.

EMC testing
EMC testing according to international standards covering household, industrial and automotive markets:
- conducted emission measurements (disturbance voltage) according to IEC/EN 55014-1 (EN 55011, CISPR 25…) and radiated emissions (disturbance power) according to IEC/EN 55014-1,
- harmonics testing according to IEC 61000-3-2 and flicker testing according to IEC/EN 61000-3-3 (one phase / three phase),
- fast transient immunity testing (one / three phase, burst / surge phenomena) according to IEC 61000-4-4/-5/-12,
- ESD simulation of electrostatic discharges according to IEC/EN 61000-4-2 (ISO 10605, IEC 61326, ...).
Motor efficiency testing
Motor efficiency testing (torque performance and efficiency measurements of AC/DC power) based on a custom motor test system with several ranges of dynamometers from Magtrol. We have a large dynamometer with 300 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm, and high speed one that goes to 100,000 rpm. We also use dynamometers for heating tests according to EN 60335-1.
Climatic testing
Climatic testing in chambers with computer-controlled temperature and humidity in the range from -70°C to +180 °C, and from 10 to 98 % r.h., with different test space volumes and speeds of temperature change. We have a temperature shock chamber with 120 l test space and max 50 kg of load, operating in the range from -70°C to +250°C, as well as a salt spray chamber for corrosion tests according to ISO 9227 (former DIN 50021).
Noise measurements
- anechoic room with a volume of 12.9 m3,
- Bruel & Kjær testing system using Pulse software,
- Lp and Lw sound power measurements,
- vibration measurements with accelerometers and a laser Polytec CLV 700,
- tests with a Bruel & Kjær 4809 small exciter,
- noise source path analysis.
