In 2026, Domel proudly marks 80 years of innovation and tradition, which we will celebrate throughout the first half of the year with a rich program of events, open house days, and anniversary exhibitions.
Celebrating the Past, Co-creating the Future
The year 2026 is a special one for Domel. This April, we proudly celebrate the 80th anniversary of our operations. From humble beginnings and cooperative roots in Železniki, we have evolved into a global development supplier that pushes the boundaries in the world of electric motors and components through continuous innovation.
In the first half of the year, we have prepared a diverse range of events to thank everyone who has been a part of our story.
April: A Month of Celebration and Tradition
April will be dedicated to our central celebration. We are organizing a formal event to meet with our key stakeholders – our owners, partners, suppliers, customers, and media representatives. We will proudly show our guests our modern production facilities, which represent the heart of our company.
At the same time, we will once again open our doors and kindly invite you to our Open Door Days (you can revisit the highlights from our Open Door Days in autumn 2022 here).

History at the Železniki Museum: You are invited to a special exhibition showcasing the competencies that originated from the former Niko cooperative. Discover how the expertise that is valued worldwide today was first forged.
May: A Look into the Future and Global Presence
The celebrations continue in May, when we will invite visitors to our locations in Škofja Loka (Trata 1 and Reteče).
Furthermore, May marks another significant milestone – the 20th anniversary of our production plant in China. This is a testament to our global strength and adaptability, which allows us to remain close to our customers across the globe.

In May, Domel concluded a special series of events – our Open Door Days, marking eight decades of innovation and growth. We welcomed more than 750 visitors to our locations in Železniki and Škofja Loka, which gave us a wonderful opportunity to showcase what we are most proud of: our employees and our expertise.

On Friday, May 8th, as the strains of the Slovenian anthem "Zdravljica" performed by opera singer Anton Habjan echoed over Škofja Loka, Domel did more than just look back at its history. With the official opening of the new Trata 2 production site, we formally entered our ninth decade - an era that will be defined by premium e-mobility and technological breakthroughs that push the boundaries of performance.
