Engineering Excellence: The EC714 Brushless Motor Powering the Cleaning Solutions of the Future
The development of the EC714 brushless vacuum motor was initiated as a direct response to market needs and the demanding expectations of leading companies in the cleaning industry.
The goal was clear – to develop a battery-powered motor that combines compact design, low weight, high efficiency, and robust performance.
Despite numerous challenges, the coordinated efforts of our teams resulted in the successful development and implementation of a motor that sets new standards in its class.
This project has proven that with expertise, innovation, and dedication, we can create products that stay ahead of the competition and meet the demands of the future market.
At Domel, we continue to move forward through innovation and are proud to present the EC714 brushless motor series – the result of years of development and close collaboration between our teams in Slovenia and China (Domel Suzhou).
It is a highly efficient and compact motor, designed for use in battery-powered applications, operating within a voltage range of 18–36 V.
Development highlights and performance range of the new EC714:
The motors are intended for dry use and feature innovative technology that enables the lowest vibration levels in their class.
With a robust construction, the EC714 achieves an electrical power output of up to 600 W and speeds exceeding 100,000 revolutions per minute.
The project was initiated to address the market demand from leading companies seeking battery-powered motors with various power levels for stick and canister vacuum cleaners.
Customers approached Domel with a specific challenge – to develop a motor delivering over 550 W of power that would also meet the following requirements:
• Weight: below 300 g
• Dimensions: below 65 mm
• Vibration and noise: below 15 mm/s
• Aerodynamic efficiency: above 50%

Development and Achievements of the EC714 Brushless Vacuum Motor
Our team set an additional goal — to develop a technological process ensuring high efficiency and reliability across all production lines: rotor, stator, and assembly.
Product and process development began in May 2020, and serial production started in October 2025.
Achieved Results
The new Domel EC714 brushless vacuum motor is designed for outstanding performance in battery-powered backpack vacuum cleaners, where weight, noise, and vibration are key.
Key Advantages:
• Continuous power: 700 W; peak power up to 750 W
• Lowest vibration levels in its class: below 15 mm/s
• Extended lifetime: over 1,000 operating hours at 600 W and 1,500 hours at 450 W
• Maximum vacuum performance: above 28 kPa
• Superior efficiency: up to 5% higher than competing models in the same blower class (51%)
• Weight and size advantage: 20–55% lighter than comparable products (only 190 g)
Despite numerous challenges during the development phase and the implementation of new, innovative production processes to ensure the highest quality standards, the project was successfully completed.
With this achievement, we have created a solid foundation for the stable and sustainable growth of Domel, even under highly competitive global market conditions.
