At the regional innovation awards ceremony, our laboratory mill Millmix 30 received a gold award from the Chamber of Commerce - Gorenjska Regional Office, securing its place at the national level competition.

Domel entered this field back in 2011 with the launch of its first ball mill, the Millmix 20. Thanks to its robust design and reliable performance, the model held its own on the market.

WHAT DOES THE MILLMIX 30 OFFER?

The Millmix 30 is a compact, benchtop laboratory mill, suitable for both standard homogenization tasks and advanced applications – such as sample preparation for DNA/RNA analysis, protein extraction, or mechanochemistry research where longer operating times are required.

Its key advantages include:

• an advanced user interface with illuminated buttons and programmable cycles,

• reduced operating noise thanks to a new lid sealing system,

• a safety switch and slow lid closing for improved user protection,

• smooth surfaces for easier cleaning and maintenance,

• retention of a 32 mm holder stroke – a competitive edge over the standard 30 mm (delivers more grinding energy),

• a wide range of accessories – various chambers and holders in different shapes and sizes.

In addition, the Millmix 30 features a new DC motor with a sensor developed by Domel’s ECS business unit. This advanced motor automatically adjusts speed and power based on load, ensuring stable, efficient, and sustainable performance.

MARKET POSITION AND POTENTIAL 

The laboratory mill market is a niche segment, dominated by a few leading manufacturers from Europe and the U.S., while Asian competitors often compete on price at the expense of quality. Domel LABS currently holds about 2% of the global market share, with a significant portion coming from OEM partnerships. With the Millmix 30 and its innovations, we have a realistic opportunity to increase that share by offering a high-end solution at a competitive price.
